Picking the best board schools for a kid leaves most parents in jitters. Since the right education system plays a substantial role in building up a child’s career goals and achievements, it is extremely essential that every parent should think twice before making any enrolment. Even a minor mistake in the selection of board schools can ruin a kid’s life forever. So, the most eerie question arises is – which board school is better for a child, ICSE or CBSE? And the answer is, though both the boards are self-financing educational institutions but they have a different syllabus, education pattern and examinations. Thus, one should understand the system first and then make any verdict. Parents should not blunder by clubbing them together. This article will help you realize the difference between ICSE board schools and CBSE board schools in India precisely.
CBSE board schools: CBSE (Central Board of secondary Education) board is highly popular in India because its education pattern is the oldest. Moreover, if by chance your child decides to travel abroad, they will have no issues in higher studies due to the number of CBSE pattern schools found there. When it comes to score good grades in any national level examinations such as engineering and medical field, selecting CBSE board schools will be the ideal option because it focuses more on maths and science subjects. The exceptional thing about the CBSE board schools in India is that the professors are highly experienced and skilled. They work vigorously in finding the young talents. Moreover, all the major competitive examinations like IIT-JEE – Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination, AIEEE – All India Engineering Entrance Examination, AIPMT – All India Pre Medical Test in India are based on the CBSE syllabus. CBSE approves both the languages – Hindi and English. CBSE board school in India permits regular students as well as private candidates from non-affiliated schools to appear in exams.
ICSE Board Schools ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) board syllabus is comprehensive and gives equal importance to every field – science, maths, languages, arts, home science, cookery, fashion design and agriculture. This board focuses more in offering practical knowledge to the students so that they can gain better knowledge understanding of subject and learn better analytic skills. The good thing about the ICSE schools is that the students can choose different subjects as per their interests. Students who desire to pursue their career in the management streams should opt for ICSE board schools because its subjects and methodology are designed in that manner. ICSE board schools do not recommend Hindi language. The certificates provided by the ICSE board are globally valid. Thus, if your child desires to complete his/her education in any foreign country, most foreign education system will accept his certificates. The common but the great factor between the CBSE and ICSE board is that both provides excellent quality education to their students.

Consumers would welcome anything that helps keep the weekly grocery prices under control as food prices continue to rise while incomes stagnate.
Farmers, also, have come under increasing pressure from volatile prices for their crops, the efforts of suppliers to keep prices low in the shops and the increasingly uncertain global weather.
At the same time they are asked to farm sustainably to protect the environment, produce more natural, chemical free food and equally to improve the yield from their land to meet the food needs of a larger global population.
In the UK, some East Anglian organic grain farmers have recently joined together in a contract with a company that needed a regular supply of food for its organically-reared pigs.
As one farmer said, it is very difficult to assess the market supply and demand particularly in the organic market and the arrangement they reached had several benefits.
It meant both buyer and sellers were no longer susceptible to the vagaries of the market and to stablise the prices right through to the retailer and share the costs. It also made it possible to make the whole supply chain from land to pig meat traceable and to reduce the carbon footprint by supplying to a local buyer.
It worked because all those involved knew each other and were in the same area, but there is no reason why the model could not be used by other farmers both in the UK and overseas.
Research in East Agnlia is also being carried out to identify the different genetic characteristics in various grain seeds. The aim is to find those that are better for growing in an area of increasing drought and are better protected against the new plant diseases that might arise. Cross breeding, for example, could then be used to produce a resilient variety suited to the local climate.
Other research that has been going on, mainly in the USA has been in providing better crop and land protection in a more natural way, as a substitute for the many now-discredited older generation of chemical fertilisers.
The range of innovations includes biopesticides, biofungicides and yield enhancers that are developed from natural sources and leave minimal residues in the land and in the crop. They will also help farmers to meet the growing demand for natural foods with less waste and less loss of the nutrition in their land
These new low-chem agricultural products are subject to careful testing and licensing before they are allowed onto the market and this can be an expensive and lengthy process, taking up to eight years in some cases because regulation is not yet standardised across individual countries, so they may need to be licensed separately in several places.
There are signs, however, that more effort is being put into innovation in the various aspects of food production to respond to the concerns of consumers on both price and food quality.

Main points of Rostows stages of growth model:
-Rostows stages of growth model is of the Neo-Classical tradition.
-The model takes a linear view of development, this means that countries are believed to develop in the same way over time.
-It is a structuralist model, it analyses development as the result of complex interactions between a number of different societal parts.
Rostow believed that economies develop by going through a number of stages. He attempted to define the characteristics of each of the 5 stages of development.
Traditional Society Stage
-Economic activity is on a subsistence basis, output (food etc) is consumed by those who produced it rather than traded. Economic activity is dominated by agriculture and is labour intensive.
Transitional Stage
-This stage is when a society has the preconditions for takeoff (the characteristics a society must have before it can start to grow quickly such as with the UK industrial revolution) in place but has not yet entered a period of high growth. Trading increases supported by an emerging transport infrastructure, savings and investment grow and entrepreneurs emerge.
Take Off Stage
-Industrialisation takes place, workers transfer from the agriculture to manufacturing. Growth is concentrated in to certain parts of the country and in one or two industries (for example, cotton processing in Manchester during the industrial revolution). New political and social institutions emerge to support industrialisation.
Drive to Maturity Stage
-The economy diversifies from the industries that originally drove growth. The massive poverty caused by the Take Off Stage starts to be reduced.
High Mass Consumption Stage
-The stage that countries reach once they have developed. Rostow, writing in 1960, believed that this was the stage which Western countries were in. Living conditions are good and the economy is baed on the consumer society.
Limitations of Rostow’s Stages of Growth Model:
-The Rostow starts with the assumption that countries will develop along the same path, that countries cannot skip stages, do stages in a different order. Splitting the process of development into stages may be simplifying what actually occurs.
-The model is ethnocentric, it is based on American and European history and shows American high mass consumption to be the end result of development.
-The model assumes that capitalist development is the only way to achieve economic development his model represents a non-communist manifesto.
How to use Rostow’s Stages of Growth Model in Essays and exams:
The ideal use of Rostow’s Stages of Growth Model in A level exams is to set it up as a straw man to knock down. The model is a good way of setting out a basic model which is easily criticised using more up to date models or models from a different political viewpoint. Dont worry about spending too much time writing about Rostows model, just give the examiner an outline of your knowledge referring to the main points of the model (see start of article). This will then allow you to spend more time showing off your knowledge to the examiner about other more complex development models.

Jawaharlal Nehru is a prominent face in the Indias freedom struggle. He was born on November 14, 1889 in a wealthy Brahmin family in Allahabad. Nehru imbibed patriotism and love for nation from his father Motilal Nehru who himself was a known and influential politician who also served once as a president of the Indian National Congress.
Jawaharlal Nehru was well educated and a scholar. His charm, spiritual discovery, and vision significantly contributed to the Indian independence movement. He was appointed the first Prime Minister of Free India who took the complete responsibility of building the nation. Being the member of the Congress party he has done many monumental work and is also known to be steer the newly freed-nation.
In the year 1916 Nehru actively participated in the Lucknow Session of the Congress where both the extremists and the moderate parties of the Congress agreed to the need and demand of self-rule or swaraj. Later on, after many movements and sessions, Motilal Nehru launched the Swaraj Party in the year 1922. Though Motilala moved from the Congress to the Swaraj party, Jawaharlal Nehru refused to leave the Congress party.
In due course there Jawaharlal Nehru was also imprisoned for his active participation in the civil disobedience campaign. During the time he was in jail Nehru was deeply touched by the beliefs of Gandhi that showed a completely new approach to deal with the system of caste differentiation and the social issue of untouchability.
In the year 1926, Nehru left for a European tour with his family. There he came across many different types of people including the socialists, communists, and even radical leaders. There he was impressed by the economic system that he wished to get it to his own country. After returning Nehru was appointed as the president of the Congress in 1930 with the only aim to subside the high intensity of communism in the Congress.
After many socialist activities, violations, and civil movements, India was announced to be a free country. The British Empire was overthrown by the congress on August 15, 1947 after about 15 years of Guwahati session. After this independence, Jawaharlal Nehru was appointed as the first Prime Minister of India.
As the Prime Minister, Nehru has made many contributions to build a happy and better nation. One by one he tried to sort out all the social and political issues in the country. In the year 1949 he visited the United States in search of a perfect solution to the existing food shortage in the country. In the year 1951, he also launched the First Five-Year Plan mainly to emphasize the agriculture output in the country.
Working and contributing significantly to build the nation, Jawaharlal Nehru fought till his last breath. On 27 May 1964, he died but left his footprints on the niche of our motherland.
